A
Note on Transportation Safety
Just a note for your peace of mind, as
required by the new Texas state law, all children enrolled who are under 8
years old and under 4'9" in height will be provided with a new
booster seat when travelling. Just FYI,
all the seats in my van are high-back seats and have three-point safety
harnesses. Every child wears an individual, properly-fitted shoulder strap and lap belt
while traveling. Children are not allowed to sit in the front passenger
seat.
On a similar note, with much in the news about van safety, I did a great
deal of research before purchasing my new van, a 2008 12-passenger Ford
E350 van. This van meets current Texas state law for school child transportation,
but beyond that, it is equipped with
AdvanceTrac
roll stability control for an added measure
of safety. The overwhelming majority of safety incidents with vans have
been with the 15-passenger extended versions, not the 12-passenger
standard length version which I have, and some of these accidents have been
attributed
to driver misjudgment. I have a Class B commercial drivers license and 15
years experience safely transporting children in 12-passenger up to
30-passenger vehicles. Your child's safety while in my care is my
number one priority. If you have any questions about your child's
safety while here, please feel free to contact me. Thank you. Kay
